Enemy "Soldiers" on American Soil. We know who they are. By Lieutenant Colonel Bob Weinstein.

"Hey, is there a war going on here?
Looks like you're dressed for battle!" a sunbather on Fort Lauderdale Beach shouts as he sees Bob Weinstein, known as The Health Colonel, getting the civilians into shape with his military-style workouts designed for all fitness levels called beach boot camp.
Bob's immediate response,
"Yes! There is a war going on right here on American soil, and a lot, yes, too many Americans are dying daily!"
While sipping on his beer and puffing his cigarette, the sunbather inquires further, "Am I missing something here?
This is the United States of America! We're a superpower! And anyway, we've got Homeland Security. I didn't see the threat alert level go up."Bob stops, kneels down and explains, "You mean you haven't noticed? The enemy is killing over a million Americans a year, mostly civilians. It is both an overt and covert operation. Overt because we know why it's happening - bad eating and sedentary lifestyle.

Our Intel, in civilian terms known as research, has documented this. Covert because the enemy uses an approach that I call slow death. That means, by the time we know it hits us, it's too late or almost too late; this death is so slow we forget that it's coming - and here's what really sends this enemy under deep cover. The excuse that has filtered down in the form of propaganda, 'Won't happen to me! It's only statistics!' This is killing Americans."
The enemy soldiers each have a different approach to killing Americans. The names of these solders are Cancer, Heart Disease and Stroke, just to name a few.

The casualty figures are so high that Bob cautions the sunbather to take a deep breath and remain seated. Here is the annual total of Americans killed by the soldiers Cancer and Heart Disease:1. Heart Disease 700,000 Killed in action (2,000 killed daily)2. Cancer 500,000 killed in action (1,300 killed daily)Now Bob has some questions he poses to the sunbather:Why aren't these casualty figures on the front-pages of our newspapers daily? Why are there no mandatory guidelines for physicians to prescribe exercise? Why are there no mandatory guidelines for physicians to include an assessment of the eating habits just the same as drawing blood for bloodwork of a patient and it,s overall health impact before prescribing medication? Why are our medical schools not including exercise and nutrition science as a mandatory part of curriculum? Why do we find sugar, chemical, fat and salt vending machines in our schools, hospitals and places of work? Why is there so little healthy fast food? Most importantly, what will it take to significantly reduce the numbers of deaths caused by lifestyle related eating and living habits? The sunbather replies, "Hey man, I'm just a tourist. What are you bothering me for?" He then tosses his cigarette and grumbles, "I guess this is killing me.

Smokin' too many of these things anyway." Buying a Treadmill

If you are considering buying a treadmill you need to take into consideration a number of factors that will determine the quality of the machine. You want to avoid buying a cheap treadmill, because they are not built for endurance and will probably breakdown after minimum use. Treadmills under $800 dollars are not built for endurance and performance and you will get an inferior workout and your machine will not last. So what do you look for when buying a treadmill, and should you buy your treadmill from a dealer or on the Internet? Buying a Treadmill from a Retail StoreThe obvious advantage when buying a treadmill from either a large retail store or fitness equipment specialty shop is that you to try it out. You can try out all of the features, compare the belts and their impact, and get a feel for what works for you.

But this comes with a cost. You are paying for two costly expenses. First, you have to pay for the retail overhead costs. Most retail fitness equipment stores are...

The Most Effective Fat Burning And Muscle Building Workout That Takes Just 13 Minutes?

Most people who want to burn off some excess pounds and tighten and tone their bodies simply don't have 2 hours each day to spend in the gym performing the bodybuilding style workouts that most "fitness experts" recommend. Plus, these workouts consist of exercises and techniques that do not exercise the body in the way it is normally used so they end up building a somewhat unusable strength. In my opinion, most people, unless their main objective is body building, shouldn't perform the traditional style workoutsWhile I do still believe that machine and free weight strength training is the best choice for body building, it is NOT the best choice when it comes to general fitness goals like strength, flexibility, endurance, etc.I don't know about you, but I can barely fit in 15 minutes for exercise let alone 2 hours? and I personally am not interested in muscle size alone (which doesn't mean strength and usually leaves you stiff and inflexible)! I'm sure your schedule is probably the same....
